Chairman Speaks



It gives me immense pleasure to learn that our Company Website is getting launched. Mackintosh Burn
Limited, a specialized company of Civil Construction was established way back in 1834 by Mr. James
Mackintosh, who came to India from Scotland in the early nineteenth century and later engaged itself in
the development of Kolkata, the then capital of India, gradually diversified its activity in various other
fields of Civil Construction. Mackintosh Burn Limited in the domain of building construction built
numerous prestigious buildings, bridges and monumental structures which become landmark in the annals of
history.

It has the unique distinction of constructing Dakshineswar Temple, Nakhoda Mosque, St. Paul’s Cathedral,
Parshwanath Jain Temple in Kolkata and Vishwa Shanti Stupa at Rajgir in the re ligious chain apart from
constructing numerous iconic structures which bear the touch of engineering skill of the company and
reflect the true glory and excellence of Mackintosh Burn Limited , as a construction firm.

Although the construction materials and methodology have changed over the years, I understand the standard
of skill, quality of customer and workmanship has not eroded.

I take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt thanks and best wishes to the staff and management of the
company in their endeavour to launch this website.
